Junior Web Frontend Developer

About the role

Canonical is looking for a Junior Web Frontend Developer to join its globally distributed team. You will design, implement and maintain modern web interfaces using JavaScript, CSS, React and Flutter, contributing to the company’s enterprise products that serve millions of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement well‑tested, documented software in web technologies or Flutter.
• Debug and resolve issues reported by users.
• Participate in code and architectural reviews as part of the engineering process.
• Collaborate with community members and colleagues on technical specifications.
• Contribute to technical documentation and improve engineering practices.
• Deploy, operate, and monitor services developed by the team.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or another STEM discipline.
• Strong academic record and a passion for open‑source software.
• Enthusiasm for cutting‑edge web technologies and user‑centered design.
• Willingness to engage with the broader open‑source community.
