About the role

The University of North Alabama’s Kilby Laboratory School seeks a Lead Teacher for its Pre‑K four‑year‑old classroom. This grant‑funded position oversees daily instruction, curriculum design, and classroom management to meet NAEYC accreditation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement age‑appropriate daily activities for four‑year‑old children.
• Design and deliver a preschool curriculum aligned with grant guidelines.
• Maintain classroom environment that complies with NAEYC accreditation standards.
• Supervise auxiliary teacher and student workers.
• Integrate current technology and STEM concepts into instruction.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Special Education with relevant coursework.
• Eligibility for an Alabama professional educator certification in Early Childhood Education (P‑3) or Early Childhood Special Education.
• Understanding of child growth and development.
• Ability to work in a grant‑funded, funding‑contingent role.

Required skills

• LETRS training (preferred).
• Experience with STEM instruction (preferred).
