Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Behavioural Neuroscience

About the role

UNSW’s School of Psychology is seeking a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) to lead research and teaching in behavioural neuroscience. The position is based on the vibrant UNSW campus in Sydney and is offered on a two‑year fixed‑term contract with the possibility of conversion to a tenure‑track appointment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in psychology, incorporating innovative teaching methods and assessment strategies.
• Provide one‑to‑one student consultation and support learning progression.
• Design and conduct experimental research in behavioural neuroscience, publishing nationally and internationally.
• Contribute to the School’s service missions, including curriculum development and academic committees.
• Collaborate with senior academics to advance experimental approaches to teaching and learning.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent in psychology, neuroscience or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to develop a clear teaching philosophy and inspire student learning.
• Strong record of scholarly research in behavioural neuroscience with national and international visibility.
• Experience in teaching at the university level, including course design and assessment.
