Legal Counsel – Commercial & Real Estate Focus

About the role

We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Legal Department in a fast‑moving, international retail environment. The role will primarily support the company’s property portfolio and operational needs through commercial and real‑estate legal work.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements with a strong emphasis on real‑estate contracts, including leases, lease amendments, renewals, assignments, terminations, and sale‑and‑purchase agreements.
• Support real‑estate acquisitions, disposals, restructurings and portfolio management, handling documentation, coordination and closings.
• Conduct legal due diligence for real‑estate transactions and identify key risks.
• Draft and negotiate ancillary operational contracts such as service agreements, facility‑management contracts, utilities and logistics agreements.
• Provide pragmatic legal advice to internal stakeholders, ensure compliance with laws and internal policies, and help mitigate contractual risks.
• Assist in managing real‑estate‑related disputes, coordinating with external counsel when needed.
• Collaborate closely with Real Estate, Finance and Operations teams on store openings, renewals, relocations and closures.

Required profile

• Law degree (LL.B. or equivalent).
• Junior‑to‑mid level legal professional with solid experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in real‑estate transactions, including asset purchases and going‑concern deals.
• Ability to work under supervision of senior legal colleagues and develop expertise in complex commercial matters.
