Managing Director – Private Equity (Turnaround & Special Situations)

About the role

The fund is seeking a Managing Director to lead the origination, execution and oversight of complex turnaround and special‑situations investments across multiple sectors. You will work closely with management teams, lenders, advisors and shareholders to create transformational value and drive profitable exits.

Key responsibilities

• Source proprietary investment opportunities in distressed, turnaround and corporate carve‑out transactions.
• Build and maintain relationships with banks, restructuring advisors, insolvency practitioners, private‑equity firms and family offices.
• Lead the full investment cycle: opportunity assessment, valuation, financial modelling, due diligence, structuring and execution.
• Negotiate acquisitions, recapitalisations, debt restructurings, refinancing solutions and equity investments.
• Develop and present investment theses focused on operational turnaround and value creation to the Investment Committee.
• Serve on boards or as chairman of portfolio companies, guiding CEOs and senior teams through turnaround plans.
• Drive operational improvements across finance, procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial performance and organisational effectiveness.
• Monitor financial performance, liquidity, covenant compliance and turnaround KPIs; support refinancing, add‑on M&A, divestitures and exit strategies.
• Mentor junior investment professionals and help expand the investment platform.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or Business Administration; MBA is a plus.
• 15+ years of experience in private equity, special situations, turnaround, restructuring, investment banking or strategic advisory.
• Proven track record of originating and executing complex investments in distressed or under‑performing businesses.
• Deep understanding of capital structures, leveraged finance, insolvency frameworks and restructuring processes.
