Mechanical Engineer – New Product Development

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will lead the design of components, sub‑assemblies and new product concepts within our New Product Development (NPD) process. Working closely with Product Marketing, Industrial Design, Electronics, Testing, IP, Quality and Regulatory Affairs, you will take projects from initial specification through feasibility studies, robust design and into Start of Production.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse trigger document specifications and prepare preliminary feasibility studies.
• Create and maintain the Product Design Specification (PDS) and technical Bill of Materials.
• Develop CAD models and product layouts using CATIA V5 or Siemens NX.
• Support prototype preparation, testing and DFMEA documentation.
• Collaborate with moulding, R&D, Purchasing and Production teams to evaluate costs and manufacturing processes.
• Participate in technical design reviews and NPD meetings, providing status updates and next‑step plans.

Required profile

• BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience designing mechanical components and systems.
• Fluent English with strong written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel as project needs dictate.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D design tools: CATIA V5 and/or Siemens NX.
• Knowledge of mass‑production product development.
• Experience with DFMEA and technical BOM creation.
• Ability to evaluate laboratory equipment and test results.
