Mechanical & Machinery Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & Machinery Engineer to support a major international energy project involving large‑scale onshore and offshore oil & gas facilities. The role is based in Assago, Italy and offers a long‑term contract until October 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Review mechanical and machinery design deliverables, including pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, tanks, filters, HVAC and utility systems.
• Assess technical datasheets, material requisitions and equipment sizing calculations.
• Support vendor package reviews and technical bid evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with API, ASME and ISO standards.
• Coordinate with process, piping, structural, electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
• Participate in HAZID/HAZOP studies, model reviews and constructability assessments.
• Review general arrangement (GA) drawings, installation documentation and mechanical deliverables.
• Provide technical query resolution and contribute to engineering reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in oil & gas, EPC or energy projects.
• Strong understanding of rotating and static equipment.
• Experience with offshore or complex industrial facilities is preferred.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• API 610, API 617, API 618 standards.
• ASME Section VIII compliance.
• ISO standards relevant to mechanical equipment.
• Design review of pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, tanks, filters, HVAC and utility systems.
• Equipment sizing calculations and technical datasheet analysis.
