Mechanical R&D Engineer

About the role

Mechanica Sistemi is seeking a Mechanical R&D Engineer to develop new concepts and prototypes for its conveyor systems used in mail, parcel and baggage management. The role focuses on designing, testing, and refining mechanical assemblies to improve performance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and test mechanical components and assemblies within R&D projects.
• Support prototyping activities, build test benches, and collect performance data.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineers to ensure functional integration.
• Analyze mechanical performance, identify issues, and propose design improvements.
• Document designs, test results, and technical evaluations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in mechanical design and testing environments.
• Strong interest in mechanical innovation and system optimisation.
• Team‑oriented mindset with problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 3D modelling and drafting (e.g., Inventor).
• CAD modelling and drawing.
• Mechanical testing and analysis.
• Experimental design and documentation.
