Purchasing Specialist – Direct Materials

About the role

This position is offered as a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to cover a maternity leave. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the team and ensuring business continuity throughout the assignment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all procurement activities including supplier contracts, price negotiations, and RFQ management for your own area of responsibility.
• Act as the contract owner for direct material suppliers and support the implementation of global/area category plans.
• Identify and drive new cost‑savings initiatives to support profitability.
• Manage supplier quality and on‑time delivery in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Report monthly key performance indicators and manage budgets, forecasts, and savings for own area.
• Drive cross‑functional cost reduction initiatives with Engineering, R&D, and Operations.
• Support implementation and execution of cost‑saving initiatives across the product lifecycle.
• Monitor and report cost performance against budget targets in collaboration with R&D and key stakeholders.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in engineering, supply chain management, business or a related field.
• At least 3 years of procurement experience, including supplier negotiations and relationship management.
• Knowledge of electrification and/or electronics supply markets is an asset.
• Ability to work independently in a multinational environment.
• Fluent in English; Italian is a plus.
• Willingness to travel as required.
