Quality Assurance Specialist – Agricultural Seeds

About the role

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join BASF’s Agricultural Solutions team, supporting the Nunhems Vegetable Seeds business in Parma, Idaho. The role focuses on evaluating seed lot quality, managing risk, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, analyze and interpret global and local quality data to approve seed lot blends and manage risk associated with seed sales.
• Provide advice on seed lot release for production to facilitate timely grower payments.
• Analyze sales feedback on field performance, gather customer needs through market visits, and conduct benchmarking studies.
• Coordinate customer complaint handling, conduct investigations, communicate findings, and initiate corrective actions (CAPA) as needed.
• Prepare monthly reports for the Regional Head of QA on crop issues.
• Participate in internal process and hygiene audits for processing and production operations.
• Perform annual document reviews and request amendments for changed processes, maintaining stewardship requirements for stock seeds and third‑party purchases.

Required profile

• Experience in seed quality evaluation and risk analysis.
• Ability to interpret quality data and make release decisions.
• Strong communication skills for handling complaints and reporting.
• Familiarity with audit procedures and document control in an agricultural setting.
