R&D Lay-up Technician

About the role

The Visa Cash App RB F1 Team, one of the two Red Bull-owned Formula 1 teams, is looking for an R&D Lay-up Technician in Faenza. The role releases lamination flat patterns of assigned car parts to the production department, defines ply flat patterns that comply with internal rules and procedures for carbon component manufacturing, and may support Composite R&D Engineers in releasing layup information.

Key responsibilities

• Digital lay-up: nest flat patterns and model the ply layup with the available software tools
• Compile and release plybooks for car parts production on request
• Interact with Design, Production, Quality Control and Car Assembly departments
• Work flexibly and proactively, maintaining good relationships across departments

Required profile

• Technical high school diploma in Mechanics
• Good understanding of composite design and production processes using prepreg materials
• Initiative, innovation, hard-working attitude and ability to work in a team
• Good communication skills in Italian and English
• Availability for early and late shifts if required

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of the Lectra digitize module
• Plybook compiling tools (Corel Draw) preferred
• Ply draping, layup simulation and nesting tools (Fibersim, Design Concept) preferred
• CAD systems preferred
