Remote Contract Law Expert (Freelance)

About the role

Turing is seeking a remote Contract Law Expert to help fine‑tune large language models on U.S. contract law scenarios. You will evaluate AI‑generated answers to legal hypotheticals, ensuring the models reason correctly about formation, breach, UCC transactions, and remedies.

Key responsibilities

• Review AI‑generated responses to contract law hypotheticals, including formation issues, breach analysis, and UCC Article 2 disputes.
• Apply a structured legal rubric to assess issue spotting, accuracy of common‑law and UCC principles, and proper contract interpretation.
• Identify gaps in AI reasoning around consideration, conditions precedent, anticipatory repudiation, liquidated damages, and third‑party beneficiary rights.
• Provide detailed annotations and written feedback to improve model performance.
• Collaborate with researchers and project managers to align evaluation standards and project goals.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Active or inactive bar admission.
• Minimum 3 years of practice in U.S. contract law, commercial transactions, or commercial litigation.
• Strong analytical and reasoning skills in common‑law contracts and the UCC.
• Excellent written communication and meticulous attention to detail.
• High ethical standards; interest in AI is a plus.
