Renewable Fuels & Circular Economy Engineer

About the role

RINA is seeking a Renewable Fuels & Circular Economy Engineer to join its Sustainability and Business Innovation Division in Genova. The role supports engineering teams in designing and delivering waste‑to‑energy solutions while ensuring compliance with quality, budget and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and develop plans for project elements under senior supervision.
• Create blueprints and structural diagrams for machines, systems or structures.
• Provide day‑to‑day site support, take measurements and assist with construction activities.
• Gather data for permit applications and submit technical documentation to authorities.
• Develop project schedules, prepare technical reports, engineering drawings and other deliverables.
• Produce progress reports and present findings to engineers and stakeholders.
• Ensure all activities comply with RINA’s Quality Management System and answer contractor queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 1–2 years of experience in engineering or technical consultancy, preferably in the waste‑to‑energy sector.
• Exposure to biogas/biomethane projects or knowledge of anaerobic digestion and biomethane upgrading is a strong plus.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience reviewing technical documentation.
• Willingness to travel on short business trips within Italy and Europe.
• Interest in renewable energy projects and technical advisory work supporting investment and financing.
