Researcher / Associate Consultant

About the role

Control Risks is expanding its presence in Italy and is looking for a dynamic, curious, and driven individual to join the team as a Researcher/Associate Consultant. You will work on business intelligence and investigations, supporting clients with due‑diligence, corporate investigations, and problem‑solving assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage investigative cases from client request through proposal, delivery, and invoicing.
• Execute business intelligence and compliance projects such as pre‑investment research, ESG due‑diligence, background checks, market entry studies, asset identification, litigation support, and power‑mapping.
• Liaise with clients to capture requirements and tailor solutions.
• Maintain and expand a human source network by cultivating contacts.
• Deliver projects on budget, scope, and deadline, presenting findings in written reports, verbal briefings, charts, and diagrams.
• Support business development by identifying new opportunities, attending conferences, and participating in brand‑raising activities.
• Contribute to methodology improvement through technology, innovation, and new research sources.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher.
• Professional fluency in English and Italian; additional European language is a plus.
• Previous experience in business intelligence, compliance, or investigations.
• Strong understanding of Italy’s political and commercial environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Research techniques, including use of databases, online registers, archives, and open‑source internet resources.
