SAP SD Functional Analyst

About the role

ABB Italy's Information Systems team, which has many years of experience with SAP technologies, is hiring an SAP SD Functional Analyst to join its competence center. The role supports projects and implementations mainly in Italy and France, and also in Croatia and Serbia, and reports to the IS Service Owner. It is a hybrid position.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, analyze and document business requirements from local stakeholders and the ABB Group, turning them into effective SAP solutions.
• Design, optimize and support Sales & Distribution (SD) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes, aligned with business objectives, efficiency and compliance.
• Create and maintain business process documentation, Business Blueprints and functional specifications, and collaborate with technical teams on enhancements and custom developments.
• Act as SAP SD subject matter expert, supporting cross-functional integrations and guiding stakeholders through project delivery.
• Plan, execute and support functional testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Support SAP operations through incident resolution, continuous process improvement and compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements.
• Work closely with the business to design and develop business processes, manage deliverables and build strong relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Economics, Information Systems or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as an SAP SD Functional Analyst, including a minimum of two end-to-end SAP implementation projects.
• Good understanding of sales, distribution and logistics processes, preferably in a manufacturing environment; experience in similar industries is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities and travel occasionally to ABB locations.
• Fluent written and spoken Italian and English.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in SAP SD, with solid knowledge of its integration with Logistics and Production modules.
• Familiarity with query design and basic ABAP debugging; experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations is an advantage.
