Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor – Physiotherapy (Sydney)

About the role

The University of New South Wales is seeking a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in Physiotherapy to join its School of Health Sciences on the Kensington Campus. The position can be appointed in either an Education‑Focused (EF) stream or a Teaching & Research (T&R) stream, depending on the candidate’s expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, innovative teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy programmes.
• Design, develop and continuously improve curriculum, with a focus on musculoskeletal physiotherapy and related subjects such as anatomy.
• Lead accreditation activities and maintain strong links with professional bodies.
• For T&R appointments: develop an independent research agenda, secure funding, supervise higher‑degree research candidates and build collaborative research partnerships.
• Mentor junior staff and students, fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• PhD in Physiotherapy or a related health/medical discipline.
• Current registration with AHPRA as a physiotherapist in Australia.
• Demonstrated clinical expertise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
• Evidence‑based practice experience and ability to translate research into teaching.
• Proven record of curriculum design and delivery (EF) or a strong research track record with national/international impact (T&R).

What we offer

• Academic Level C/D salary range $155,000‑$200,000 plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading.
