Senior People Manager – Italy

About the role

The Senior People Manager will be the primary HR leader for JD Group in Italy, translating global People strategies into local actions that support retail growth and corporate objectives. Reporting to the Retail Associate Director South Europe, the role works closely with UK/EU Centers of Excellence to ensure compliance, talent development, and a high‑performing work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the JD Italy Country Manager to align People initiatives with retail performance, expansion, and commercial goals.
• Serve as the main liaison for UK/EU Line Managers, ensuring consistent management practices and legal compliance in Milan and Rome.
• Collaborate with Group Reward and Finance COEs on workforce planning, budgeting, and cost‑target alignment.
• Manage employee relations, disciplinary cases, and labor‑law compliance while fostering a positive, high‑performance culture.
• Lead organizational change, succession planning, and talent identification with the Group Talent COE.
• Drive People Experience initiatives, including the Global Engagement Survey, DEI actions, and the Annual Culture Calendar.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law, Economics, Humanities or related field; Master’s in Human Resources Management preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of HR experience, preferably in retail or fast‑paced industries, with a proven record of leading HR functions.
• Pragmatic problem‑solver able to navigate complex, rapidly changing environments.
• Business‑oriented mindset with strong analytical, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
