Site Activation Lead

About the role

ICON Strategic Solutions is hiring a Site Activation Lead in Milan. Working in a sponsor-dedicated model, you will advance clinical trial start-up activities by understanding client objectives and helping develop plans for country and site distribution. ICON is described as the world's largest FSP organisation, with over 90 sponsor partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site start-up and activation activities, supporting the team to deliver quality outcomes.
• Lead clinical trial start-up activities, understand client objectives and help develop plans for country and site distribution.
• Oversee day-to-day delivery of site activation in assigned projects, ensuring adherence to sponsor timelines, expectations and compliance with ICON/client KPIs, SOPs and regulatory standards.
• Ensure each project has a comprehensive site activation plan and conduct studies effectively in line with it.
• Lead sponsor initiatives such as kick-off meetings, bid defenses, project updates, status calls and other key communications.
• Use project management skills to optimise performance and collaboration and ensure successful study outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in life sciences.
• At least 4 years of experience in a clinical research environment, with a focus on start-up experience.
• Solid site start-up and activation experience, with the ability to manage competing priorities and develop a team.
• Willingness to travel as required (approximately 15%).
• Legal right to work in the country where the role is based.
