Soil Mechanics Engineer

About the role

Saipem is seeking a Soil Mechanics Engineer to join its Energy Carriers Business line. You will work under the Operational Leader and Head of Department, delivering geotechnical solutions for complex on‑shore and off‑shore projects worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Perform soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering tasks, including design, verification, and study activities.
• Conduct geotechnical analyses such as bearing capacity, settlements, and slope stability, and define shallow and deep foundation solutions.
• Prepare and review calculation reports, tender documentation, and cost estimates for soil investigation campaigns.
• Identify critical soil conditions, propose non‑standard solutions, and support project teams during execution.
• Coordinate with project specialists, designers, and external vendors, preparing technical annexes and specifications.
• Supervise piling and ground‑improvement works on site and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering tools and technologies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the energy sector.
• Proficiency in English (minimum B2 level).
