Steward – Hotel Food & Beverage Operations

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Steward to join our luxury hotel team in Porto Cervo. In this full‑time position you will ensure that all food‑service areas, equipment and utensils are clean, sanitized and ready for use, supporting the smooth operation of our restaurant and kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations and trash compactors.
• Wash, disinfect and store kitchen tools, knives, silverware and other wares using the three‑compartment sink and appropriate chemicals.
• Receive deliveries, store perishables correctly and rotate stock.
• Inspect, pull and stack cleaned items; re‑wash any items that do not meet standards.
• Empty and maintain trash cans, dumpsters and recycling bins; break down cardboard and glass for proper disposal.
• Clean and mop all assigned areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents or unsafe conditions to the manager.

Required profile

• Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Comfort standing, walking or sitting for extended periods and reaching overhead or below the knees.
• No high‑school diploma or prior experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
• Clear, professional communication and a team‑oriented attitude.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial dishwashing equipment.
• Handling of cleaning and sanitising chemicals.
• Basic knowledge of food‑service hygiene standards.
