Stress Analyst – Composite and Metal Parts

About the role

Leonardo, a global aerospace, defence and security group, is looking for a Stress Analyst based in Pomigliano D'Arco. The role carries out structural and fatigue analyses of composite and metal parts by hand calculation (Excel spreadsheets) and finite element modelling.

Key responsibilities

• Perform linear and non-linear FE analysis with commercial pre- and post-processors such as Apex, Patran and Hypermesh and solvers such as MSC.Nastran
• Run explicit FE analysis (bird strike, crash, impact) with LS-Dyna, MSC.Nastran SOL 700 (Dytran) or Radioss
• Support manufacturing and in-service structural parts throughout their lifecycle
• Contribute to structural test requirements and compare analytical results with experimental ones
• Prepare stress analysis reports and test assessment reports
• Work with the Airvehicle department on loads, the Design department on CAD surfaces, the Large Structural Laboratories on tests, and the Material & Processes team on material allowables

Required profile

• Master's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering
• Junior profile: 0-3 years of experience (new graduate)
• Good level of written and spoken English (B2)
• Availability to travel outside Italy
• Problem-solving attitude, teamwork, ability to work under pressure and adaptability

Required skills

• Proficiency in FEM software and solvers
• Experience with explicit FE analysis
• Scripting with Python or VBA
