Technical Service Specialist

About the role

ABB is looking for a Technical Service Specialist in Genoa, reporting to the Service Team Leader. The role ensures the Service portfolio is delivered according to ABB's standard processes and safety guidelines, satisfying customers through technical support and problem-solving in the specialist's own area of expertise. The work model is onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support and solve problems remotely or on site in any Service category.
• Determine effective service applications, equipment and methods to develop, market or manufacture new service offerings cost-effectively.
• Provide technical consulting on service solutions to management and customers.
• Identify new sales opportunities and communicate with customers and the ABB sales teams so needs are understood and opportunities are used for service growth.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in service activities.
• Experience coordinating engineering teams on the design of control logic for energy production systems such as DEHC, BMS and boilers.
• At least 5 years of experience in the commissioning of those applications and control logic.
• Experience with virtualized systems, covering configuration, operation and maintenance.
• Willingness to travel for assignments averaging two weeks, mainly preventive maintenance or commissioning at sites in Italy, plus availability for on-call duty.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of INFI90, Harmony and S+ Suite technology for operation, engineering and historian.
• Other ABB automation lines such as AC800F / AC800M, S800 and AC500.
• Industrial protocols such as Profibus, OPC and Modbus.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity regulations for power generation facilities.
• Software applications in power markets such as Reactive Power Regulation "Sart" and Primary Frequency Power Regulation.
