Technical Trade Compliance Specialist – EMEA

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Technical Trade Compliance Specialist to join its EMEA Trade Compliance team. The role combines engineering, logistics and regulatory expertise to ensure the compliant movement of advanced equipment, spare parts and technology across borders.

Key responsibilities

• Support import, export, customs and trade compliance activities for operations in Italy and across the EMEA region.
• Analyze engineering documentation, BOMs and technical drawings to determine customs and export‑control requirements.
• Assist with customs tariff classification (HS Codes) and export‑control classification.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply‑chain, logistics, finance and tax teams to ensure compliant business processes.
• Participate in internal audits, risk assessments and drive process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Fluent in Italian and proficient in English.
• Experience in an engineering, manufacturing, logistics or high‑tech environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and product manuals.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 20 % of the time.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP S/4HANA or similar ERP systems.
• Knowledge of customs tariff classification and export‑control regulations.
