Toddler Assistant Teacher/Guide (Ages 18 months‑3 years)

About the role

The Montessori School of Rome is looking for a caring and energetic Toddler Assistant Teacher/Guide to support children aged 18 months to 3 years. You will work alongside the Lead Guide and a second Assistant Guide to create a nurturing, Montessori‑based learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Guide in delivering Montessori lessons and maintaining a prepared environment.
• Build respectful, positive relationships with toddlers, guiding them with patience and enthusiasm.
• Help keep the classroom safe, organized, and engaging.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support each child’s growth.
• Support daily routines, prepare materials, and manage classroom operations.
• Participate in staff meetings, parent meetings, and professional development sessions.
• Ensure compliance with school policies and state licensing requirements.

Required profile

• Genuine love for working with children aged 18 months‑3 years.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to children’s safety, well‑being, and development.
• Willingness to assist with diapering and other daily care tasks.
• Interest in Montessori philosophy and child‑centered learning.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, sit on the floor, and actively engage with toddlers throughout the day.
