Trainee Lawyer – Finance (Investment Management)

About the role

DLA Piper is looking for a motivated Trainee Lawyer to join its Investment Management and Funds team in Rome. You will support partners and senior lawyers in advising asset managers, institutional investors and financial services firms on alternative investment funds and related regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and due‑diligence on fund formation and financial‑services regulation.
• Assist in drafting legal opinions and contracts.
• Analyse contractual agreements and other legal documents.
• Engage directly with client matters and support the team throughout project lifecycles.

Required profile

• Law degree with strong academic results.
• Intention to sit for the first session of the Italian Bar Exam in 2027.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in Italian and English.
• Preferably at least six months of experience in alternative‑investment‑funds or financial‑services regulation.
• Service‑oriented, organized, able to meet deadlines and work collaboratively.
