Utilities Leader – Industrial Services (Mantova)

About the role

Nestlé Purina is launching a new manufacturing site in Mantova and seeks a senior leader to manage industrial services and utilities. The role ensures efficient, safe, and compliant operation of steam, refrigeration, water, HVAC, compressed air and electrical systems across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain competency plans for personnel operating and maintaining MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) infrastructure.
• Plan, design, modify and improve industrial services plant, equipment and infrastructure, using internal expertise or qualified third‑party contractors.
• Support day‑to‑day operation, budgeting and cost monitoring of utilities, while identifying energy and water‑saving opportunities.
• Manage quality, environmental and regulatory compliance through monitoring processes and collaboration with contractors, suppliers and Nestlé Purina Central Engineering.
• Ensure safety of processes and personnel from design coordination through installation, commissioning, hand‑over and periodic safety audits.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or diploma (mechanical or electrical) with substantial practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years experience in an industrial services engineering discipline, preferably in food‑related manufacturing.
• Experience with large distributed ammonia plants and industrial refrigeration systems.
• Proven ability to operate or supervise heating pressure systems (gas boilers) or large combustion systems.
• Fluency in Italian and English.

• P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagram) expertise.
• Industrial refrigeration and ammonia plant operation.
• HVAC systems (AHU, chillers) and fire‑protection equipment.
• Water and steam generation, water‑treatment systems.
• Building Management System (BMS) and high‑voltage electrical equipment.

What we offer

• Permanent, full‑time contract.
• Gross annual base salary €63,500 plus a 13 % annual bonus.
