Air Cooler Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Air Cooler Design Engineer to lead the thermodynamic and mechanical design of air‑cooler heat exchangers. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to improve thermal performance, reduce emissions and optimise cost and carbon footprint.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse state‑of‑the‑art components and identify improvement opportunities.
• Design air‑cooler modules from thermal and mechanical perspectives using international software.
• Prepare documentation that meets project specifications, international codes and third‑party requirements.
• Coordinate with process, manufacturing and testing departments to ensure manufacturability and plant integration.
• Develop and execute test benches, define procedures and analyse results to validate new technologies.
• Implement validated improvements in design tools and update design standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Energy or Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to urgent requests.
• Fluent in Italian and English.
• Strong cross‑functional teamwork and communication skills.

Required skills

• Thermal design software such as HTRI or equivalent.
• Finite‑element analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, Fluent).
• Acoustic analysis knowledge (sound power/pressure levels, propagation, reflection).
• Understanding of material noise‑absorption characteristics.
• 3D CAD systems, preferably Siemens NX, and ability to exchange models with calculation software.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
