Application Engineer

About the role

Join a newly created Engineering-to-Order (ETO) team at Rotork, a global leader in flow control and instrumentation. As an Application Engineer you will translate customer requirements into reliable, cost‑effective engineered solutions across multiple industries, influencing product delivery from concept through installation.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and analyse customer specifications, data sheets, drawings and schematics.
• Develop and configure engineered solutions using CAD tools, ensuring they meet performance and cost targets.
• Collaborate with internal teams to shape processes, best practices and documentation for the ETO function.
• Provide technical support and high‑level customer service throughout the sales and project lifecycle.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals, quotations and technical presentations.

Required profile

• Technical degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related engineering field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum five years of experience in application engineering, inside sales or a similar role.
• Strong customer‑facing skills with the ability to work independently and within a team.
• Excellent communication, presentation and organisational abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, able to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer‑aided design software, preferably Solid Edge.
• Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics and control systems.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office 365.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply business software and internal applications.
