Assistant General Counsel – Telecoms & Renewables

About the role

The Assistant General Counsel – Telecoms & Renewables will support Unison’s European operations, driving the acquisition of telecom infrastructure assets and expanding the renewable energy portfolio across multiple EU markets. This hands‑on position reports to the Regional General Counsel – Europe and works closely with senior management, origination, pricing and property teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end acquisition transactions for cell towers and related telecom assets across EU jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with brokers, site owners, lawyers, notaries, banks and fund managers to close deals.
• Perform legal and property due diligence, including lease and title reviews.
• Provide basic property tax guidance and prepare pre‑close and closing documentation.
• Draft contracts, notarial documents and oversee full closing execution.
• Manage a pipeline of renewable energy lease acquisitions and support cross‑functional closing efforts.
• Structure and negotiate sale‑lease‑back and land‑financing agreements with renewable developers.
• Assist with market entry activities such as entity setup, compliance, KYC and corporate structuring.

Required profile

• 10+ years of legal experience in a law firm and/or renewable energy environment.
• Strong track record of managing complex transactions to closing.
• Experience in telecom infrastructure and renewable energy real‑estate transactions.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams.
