Assistant General Counsel – Telecoms & Renewables

About the role

Unison, a telecom and renewables infrastructure investment firm, is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to support its European operations from Italy. The role will focus on acquiring telecom infrastructure assets and expanding the renewable energy portfolio across EU markets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end acquisition transactions for telecom infrastructure, including coordination with brokers, site owners, lawyers, notaries, banks and fund managers.
• Conduct legal and property due diligence, review leases and titles, and prepare pre‑close and closing documentation.
• Support expansion into new jurisdictions, provide basic property tax guidance, and train origination teams on real‑estate matters.
• Oversee a pipeline of renewable energy lease acquisitions, structure negotiations with developers, and assist with market entry activities such as entity setup and compliance.
• Lead regular legal coordination meetings and manage payment processes at closing.

Required profile

• 10+ years of legal experience in a law firm and/or renewable energy environment.
• Strong track record in driving complex transactions to closing and managing portfolio risk.
• Experience working with senior management and cross‑functional teams (origination, pricing, property management).
