Automotive Creative Exterior Designer

About the role

As an Automotive Creative Exterior Designer you will join Huawei's Milan Aesthetic Research Center, a hub where design, technology and culture intersect. You will work closely with product, UX and brand specialists to shape the next generation of Huawei mobility experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Create bold exterior design concepts that push aesthetic boundaries for future Huawei vehicles.
• Develop design proposals from early sketches through to production‑ready visualisations.
• Refine ideas into polished, competitive solutions while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Craft compelling design stories to clearly communicate concepts across multidisciplinary teams.
• Build deep understanding of the Chinese automotive market and its design dynamics.
• Collaborate globally, travelling to China and other project hubs several times a year to support development and benchmark trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Automotive Design.
• 1‑4 years of experience in automotive or mobility design (or an equally strong creative portfolio).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design intent.
• Collaborative mindset with confidence to work independently when needed.
• Fluency in English; Chinese is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a multicultural, international environment.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Blender for 3D modelling and visualisation.
• Strong 2D/3D design abilities, from expressive sketching to refined digital rendering.
• Fluency with AI‑driven design tools to accelerate creativity and workflow.
• Ability to collaborate with clay modelers at various scales.
