Backend Developer

About the role

AccessiWay is looking for a proactive Backend Developer to design and build services that deliver outstanding user experiences. You will work with TypeScript and AWS to create reliable, observable, and evolvable backend solutions that power digital accessibility for millions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain TypeScript‑based Lambda functions, ECS‑hosted services, and REST APIs behind API Gateway.
• Design event‑driven flows using Amazon SNS and SQS, handling idempotency, retries, and failure modes.
• Build, containerise, and deploy services with Docker and Amazon ECS/ECR, managing image lifecycles and task definitions.
• Manage data across Aurora PostgreSQL and DynamoDB, including schema design, migrations, and query optimisation.
• Gradually contribute to AWS CDK infrastructure‑as‑code stacks as you grow in the role.

Required profile

• Mid‑level or senior developer with a strong curiosity for backend systems.
• Comfortable taking full ownership of backend components and collaborating in a fast‑scaling environment.
• Enjoys working in an inclusive, autonomous team that values experimentation.
