Biomethane Business Developer

About the role
We are seeking a driven Biomethane Business Developer to help expand our biomethane portfolio. Working closely with the Business Development team, you will own the sourcing and structuring of new growth opportunities through acquisitions and greenfield projects.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, originate and evaluate acquisition targets (greenfield and brownfield) and lead co‑development opportunities in biomethane.
- Support the full M&A process from screening and due diligence to negotiation and deal closing.
- Maintain a live pipeline of opportunities using market intelligence, network activation and outreach to agricultural producers and project developers.
- Develop and present investment cases, contributing to financial models and risk assessments for internal decision‑making.
- Acquire in‑depth knowledge of permitting processes (grid injection, biomethane certificates, environmental authorisations) and act as the internal reference for regulatory developments.
- Coordinate with external consultants, legal advisors and public authorities to secure permits and manage incentive schemes (PNRR, tariffs).
- Build and nurture relationships with landowners, cooperatives, municipalities, energy suppliers, off‑takers and industry bodies, representing the company at events and forums.
Required profile
- Degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Sciences or a related field.
- 5+ years of business development experience with exposure to biomethane, biogas or renewable energy.
- Proven track record of originating and closing deals or development projects.
- Hands‑on familiarity with biomethane permitting processes and incentive schemes.
- Strong commercial instinct, excellent negotiation skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
- Fluent in Italian and English (minimum B2).
