BMS Commissioning Engineer – Data Center Projects

About the role

A growing building automation and controls company is expanding across Europe and is looking for an experienced BMS Commissioning Engineer to join its team in Milan. The role focuses on commissioning, testing and handover of BMS and building automation systems on large-scale data center projects, working with project managers, controls engineers, contractors and client teams.

Key responsibilities

• Commission BMS and building automation systems and carry out point-to-point, functional and system testing
• Test and commission HVAC control systems such as AHUs, chillers, pumps and CRAC/CRAH units
• Configure and test BMS controllers, I/O, sensors, actuators and field devices
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, controls and communication issues
• Complete functional performance testing and support integrated systems testing and client witnessing
• Coordinate with electrical and mechanical teams and interface with PLCs and third-party systems
• Test communications using BACnet and Modbus, review BMS graphics, alarms, trends and control strategies
• Produce commissioning records, test sheets and technical documentation, and liaise with clients, consultants and contractors
• Support final handover and provide technical assistance during the defects period

Required profile

• Proven experience as a BMS Commissioning Engineer, BMS Controls Engineer or Controls Commissioning Engineer
• Experience commissioning DDC, PLC or BMS control systems and with HVAC plant and mechanical services
• Ability to read electrical drawings, control schematics and technical documentation
• Large commercial, industrial or mission-critical project experience; data center experience highly desirable
• Willingness to travel to data center sites across Italy and possibly wider Europe
• Fluent Italian and good English highly advantageous

• Salary of 45,000 to 55,000 EUR plus bonus
