Business Controller Expert

About the role

As a Business Controller Expert at Kuehne+Nagel you will act as a Finance Business Partner, supporting strategic‑tactical decisions and day‑to‑day financial operations. You will ensure the integrity of financial reporting, help drive continuous improvement, and enable business units to focus on delivering essential services worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the quality and accuracy of monthly closing procedures, ensuring correct revenue, cost recognition and balance‑sheet exposure management.
• Monitor business development against KPIs, focusing on productivity, volumes, costs and budget‑to‑actual variances.
• Prepare annual targets, quarterly forecasts and financial reports for local and central management in line with internal guidelines.
• Validate statistical information such as client P&L and collaborate with sites to improve accounting knowledge and adherence to Kuehne+Nagel standards.
• Support internal and external auditors and ensure compliance with internal procedures and financial guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar finance controller role.
• Previous experience in logistics or transportation is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative.
• Fluent in English and Italian, both written and spoken.
