CAD Design Engineer – Future Projects

About the role

We are looking for a creative and innovative CAD Design Engineer to model the physical architecture of our current and future space vehicles. You will work on the Nyx modular orbital vehicle, contributing to both overall and detailed vehicle definitions.

Key responsibilities

• Build the CAD physical model of vehicles and sub‑systems using NX or equivalent tools.
• Refine models by adjusting architecture, accommodation, material selections and thicknesses based on thermo‑mechanical analyses and system trade‑offs.
• Collaborate closely with thermal, structural, materials, and manufacturing engineers to ensure compliance with mission environments and manufacturing constraints.
• Maintain configuration management of CAD models and manage the vehicle structure mass budget.
• Participate in co‑engineering sessions with mission analysis, propulsion, avionics, GNC and system engineers, providing guidelines and feasibility assessments.
• Define volume allocations and clearance specifications for vehicle subsystems.
• Contribute to the improvement of CAD tools and processes.
• Prepare technical documentation, drawings and present analysis results.
• Support additive manufacturing engineers with dedicated studies.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in mechanical, aerospace or manufacturing engineering (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a CAD designer.
• Strong knowledge of aerospace vehicle design and associated challenges.
• Experience with additive manufacturing.
• Fluent in English; German or French is a plus.

• Proficiency with CAD software such as NX and CATIA.
