Child and Youth Program Assistant (Capo CDC) – Retention Bonuses

About the role

The Child and Youth Program Assistant works directly with children and youth to ensure they are engaged, cared for, and safe while participating in program activities. The role supports social, emotional, and cognitive development through structured and spontaneous activities, while also addressing individual needs such as nutrition, special requirements, and school readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement daily schedules, activity plans, and special events that meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of participants.
• Prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas, including setting up displays, bulletin boards, and inventorying equipment.
• Supervise children and youth during indoor, outdoor, and field‑trip activities, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense, NAF Component, and local installation policies.
• Incorporate parental instructions regarding dietary, physical, or other special requirements into program delivery.
• Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and supervisors, providing updates on participant progress and program compliance.
• Assist children with special needs as directed by the supervisor, ensuring a supportive environment.

Required profile

• Ability to work safely and responsibly with children and youth in a structured program setting.
• Strong understanding of child development principles and age‑appropriate guidance techniques.
• Willingness to follow DoD, NAF Component, and installation policies and procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with children, parents, and team members.
