Commodity Buyer – Plant Procurement

About the role

The Plant Commodity Buyer will own the commodity strategy, procurement activities and supplier partnerships for direct material commodities and spare parts supporting the Energy Equipment and GTS businesses. You will work closely with commercial, engineering and supply‑chain teams to drive cost‑effective, high‑quality sourcing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute long‑term commodity strategies, partnering with strategic suppliers to meet KPI targets.
• Serve as the primary point of reference for Commercial, Engineering, Supply Chain and Product Leadership on make/buy decisions and value‑creation initiatives.
• Integrate commodity strategies into early‑stage ITO bids to support competitive customer offers.
• Optimize purchase order placement, lead cost‑reduction and BVC initiatives, conduct should‑cost analyses and manage cost/productivity metrics.
• Lead supplier selection, development and partnership programs to achieve top performance in cost, quality, delivery and sustainability.
• Use Sales and Operations Planning data to align supplier capacity with business forecasts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics or a related field.
• Proven experience leading commodity procurement initiatives.
• Strong business acumen and ability to drive complex projects.
• Excellent presentation, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Good knowledge of supply‑chain processes and technical products.
