Community Engineer (multiple roles & seniority levels)

About the role

We are seeking passionate Community Engineers to shape and scale global open‑source communities that underpin widely used Linux‑based technologies. The role is fully remote and based in Italy, offering the chance to act as a bridge between developers, contributors, and internal engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, coordinate, and scale programs that increase engagement across open‑source ecosystems.
• Serve as liaison between community contributors and product, engineering, and developer‑relations teams.
• Improve contribution workflows, reduce friction, and enable successful delivery of technical projects.
• Create high‑quality written content such as blog posts, updates, and documentation.
• Engage with communities on forums, chat platforms, social channels, and events.
• Represent the organization at conferences, meetups, and industry events.
• Identify and drive improvements to community tooling, processes, and contributor experience.

Required profile

• Strong passion for open‑source software, Linux ecosystems, and collaborative development.
• Demonstrated public track record of community engagement (e.g., GitHub contributions, talks, blog posts).
• Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Strong organizational and program‑management abilities.
