Cultural Mediator (Ukrainian)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Ukrainian‑speaking Cultural Mediator to support asylum‑seekers, migrants and refugees in the Milan metropolitan area. Reporting to the Head of Programs, you will help break linguistic, cultural and social barriers, enabling vulnerable populations to access essential services and protection.

Key responsibilities

• Provide interpretation, translation and cultural mediation for Ukrainian‑speaking beneficiaries.
• Conduct outreach and community‑engagement activities in reception and integration facilities.
• Assist in delivering individual integration services, psychosocial support and information sessions on rights, labor exploitation prevention and available services.
• Support monitoring and assessment activities, including data collection within facilities.

Required profile

• Fluent Ukrainian and Italian (or English) with strong communication skills.
• Experience working with refugees, migrants or vulnerable communities.
• Ability to build trust and identify vulnerabilities, needs and priorities of beneficiaries.

Required skills
