Cyber Security Specialist

About the role

Avvale is looking for a mid‑level Cyber Security Specialist to join its Security team. Reporting to the Security Manager, you will help govern the company’s defence infrastructure, ensure compliance with key regulations and act as the operational bridge between internal IT, external security service providers and business units.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage core security controls such as XDR/EDR, Email Security Gateway, MDM, DNS Protection and DLP.
• Handle Level 2 tickets through ITSM/Ticketing systems and coordinate escalations with MSSPs.
• Support the Security Manager in defining, implementing and auditing security policies, standards and procedures (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
• Assist Incident Response activities, track remediation and maintain documentation.
• Conduct vulnerability management: analyse scan results, prioritize risks, follow up on patching and remediation after penetration tests or threat‑hunting exercises.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience in information security or related IT roles.
• Pragmatic approach to Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) processes.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with internal stakeholders and external providers.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

What we offer

• Gross annual salary between €38,500 and €51,500, based on experience.
