Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our European engineering team and help build the next generation of our digital shopping marketplace. You will work with massive datasets and cutting‑edge technologies such as Spark, Kafka and AWS to ingest, process and distribute data at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering, Data Science and Data Analyst teams to design and implement real‑time streaming and batch data pipelines.
• Improve and maintain data‑warehousing solutions, delivering trusted datasets to internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in design discussions and propose innovative solutions to business problems.
• Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines for data‑engineer workflows.
• Explore new data‑processing and storage technologies and share findings with the team.
• Build tools and contribute to internal or open‑source projects where appropriate.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience building data pipelines that ingest and transform large data sets.
• 2+ years of experience with big‑data technologies such as Spark, Kafka and Airflow.
• Proficiency in at least one general‑purpose programming language, preferably Scala or Python.
• Proven track record of shipping quality code and delivering high‑impact features.
• Strong passion for data and fostering a data‑driven culture.
