Deputy Chief Medical Officer

About the role

Philogen, a Swiss-Italian biotechnology company founded in 1996, develops biopharmaceuticals for cancer therapy and inflammatory diseases. Its clinical department is based in Siena, Milan and Zurich. It is looking for a highly motivated and collaborative Medical Doctor to join as Deputy Chief Medical Officer, providing medical oversight, expertise and leadership for the strategy, development and implementation of clinical trials and supporting the R&D department in planning product availability for clinical studies.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of strategic plans for the company's product portfolio
• Support the design of study protocols, medical reports, statistical analysis plans and regulatory application documentation
• Supervise pharmacovigilance, monitor patient safety and ensure global regulatory standards
• Interpret emerging study data to guide development strategies
• Coordinate with regulatory and project management teams to discuss with health authorities and clinical centers, and build relationships with leading physicians
• Represent Philogen in building and maintaining partner relationships
• Coordinate the Medical and Biostatistics teams

Required profile

• Degree in Medicine (mandatory)
• At least 5 years' experience in clinical development in a pharmaceutical company
• Excellent written and spoken English

Required skills

• Biostatistical knowledge in the context of clinical trials
