About the role
As an Electronics & Avionics Engineer at cosine, you will shape the electronic backbone of high‑performance optical payloads for space missions. You will translate system requirements into robust, buildable avionics architectures that support Earth observation, environmental monitoring, defence remote sensing and planetary science.
Key responsibilities
- Define and support the electronics and avionics architecture of optical payloads, creating concepts, interfaces and specifications.
- Drive procurement activities for electronic subsystems, including supplier selection, technical alignment, quotations and make‑or‑buy decisions.
- Act as the technical interface with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring design, quality, delivery and performance expectations are met.
- Support engineering reviews covering requirements, design, test readiness and manufacturing data.
- Contribute to system‑level integration, verification and testing of electronic subsystems throughout development and production.
- Participate in risk management, including obsolescence analysis, component availability and procurement planning.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in electronics, avionics, aerospace, electrical engineering or a related field.
- Experience in electronics or avionics development for aerospace, space, defence or other high‑reliability systems.
- Strong understanding of electronic architectures such as power, data handling, control electronics and sensor interfaces.
- Experience with procurement, supplier management or sourcing of electronic components, boards or subsystems.
- Ability to write and review technical documentation including specifications, interface documents and supplier statements of work.
- Structured, pragmatic and delivery‑oriented mindset with strong communication skills across multidisciplinary teams.
