Energy Efficiency Engineer

About the role

The Energy Efficiency Engineer provides the analytical and technical backbone for data‑center energy performance management. Reporting to the Energy & Resource Operation Manager, the role works across Italy, Spain and other European sites to design models, validate data and support energy‑efficiency projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain predictive models for energy KPIs (PUE, WUE, CUE, etc.) and update energy baselines.
• Validate and monitor energy data from BMS, databases and Grafana, define alarm thresholds and resolve integration issues.
• Lead root‑cause analyses of significant energy deviations and support corrective action plans.
• Assess technical and economic feasibility of energy‑efficiency initiatives and review monthly/quarterly energy reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (industrial or energy) or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in critical infrastructure, data‑center or industrial operations.
• Proven experience in energy data analysis, KPI modelling and multi‑site performance management.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel across Europe once per month.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of critical infrastructure systems (electrical, mechanical, cooling, generators, UPS).
• Experience with monitoring and data‑visualisation tools such as Grafana.
• Familiarity with BMS/SCADA data platforms and energy monitoring systems.
• Knowledge of measurement & verification (M&V) methodologies for energy projects.
• Ability to perform root‑cause analysis and structured problem‑solving.
