Enterprise Technical Architect

About the role

Fiserv, a global leader in fintech and payments, is looking for an Enterprise Technical Architect to join its Global Issuer organisation's Architecture team. The architect leads and builds new cloud-native applications, working in a cross-functional environment to define and deliver end-to-end solutions. Experience in payments and card issuing solutions is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the overall high-level design of applications and oversee lower-level designs while applying engineering standards across multiple workstreams.
• Manage implementation across the full project lifecycle, from interpreting requirements and writing technical specifications to development, testing and deployment.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and explain solutions from both business and detailed technical perspectives.
• Leverage a broad range of application engineering patterns, tools and frameworks to complement the product architecture.

Required profile

• 10+ years of related IT experience designing and deploying enterprise-level applications.
• Expertise in distributed and cloud technologies and their integration and configuration.
• Demonstrated experience in both agile/scrum and waterfall development.
• Mentoring experience for junior staff.
• Advantageous: experience with other payment solutions, including a mainframe environment.

Required skills

• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerisation (Kubernetes, OpenShift), microservices and Kafka.
• Java, JavaScript, Quarkus, Spring, Angular, React, HTMX, CSS3, API gateways (Apigee, MuleSoft).
• Distributed databases (Postgres, Yugabyte, RDS, Aurora), CI/CD, ESB/Datapower, mobile SDKs.
• Security: cryptography, PKI, SSL, RSA, authentication, encryption, digital signatures, session management, performance tuning, automated testing, high availability.
• Functional and technical specifications, coding, testing and application support.
