Financial Controller – Energy Sector

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join an Italian energy company based in Milan. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will oversee the full spectrum of accounting and financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and financial operations.
• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing processes.
• Manage analytical accounting and coordinate with external advisors.
• Prepare periodic financial reports.
• Develop budgets and forecasts, performing variance analysis.
• Monitor and control costs across the organization.
• Coordinate tax matters with external consultants.
• Support project financing, including technical and legal due diligence.
• Contribute to treasury optimization and group cash‑flow management.
• Assist in implementing corporate policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of finance and control experience in the Energy, Infrastructure, or Industrial sector.
• Experience in project financing activities.
• Degree in Economics or Finance.
• Fluent English.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work autonomously.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
