Financial Controller (Italy)

About the role

We are looking for a Financial Controller to take full ownership of the month‑end close and management reporting for Rayner Italia Srl. The role will ensure accurate, timely financial information for the Group and provide operational accounting support to the Italian entity.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full month‑end close for Italy, preparing the monthly Management Pack (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, variance analysis).
• Oversee Accounts Payable end‑to‑end, including invoice processing, supplier reconciliations and payment runs.
• Maintain daily cash book and perform bank reconciliations.
• Execute stock movements in ERP/WMS, ensuring accuracy of goods receipts, issues, write‑offs and returns.
• Prepare and post accruals, pre‑payments, standard journal entries and maintain the fixed‑asset register.
• Perform intercompany invoicing, loan adjustments and submit Group schedules to auditors.
• Run inventory, COGS and system reports, post related journals and close the Italy period in the ERP.
• Lead implementation of NetSuite for the Italian entity.
• Ensure balance‑sheet reconciliations, VAT adjustments and transfer‑pricing transactions comply with statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in month‑end close and management reporting for an Italian entity.
• Hands‑on experience with full‑cycle accounting, including AP, cash management, inventory and fixed assets.
• Ability to work with external auditors and tax advisors (e.g., PwC, BDO).
• Strong analytical skills to explain variance drivers and support business decisions.

Required skills

• NetSuite ERP implementation and usage.
• Experience with ERP/WMS systems (eSolver, Exchequer).
• Proficiency in preparing VAT and transfer‑pricing journal entries.
• Knowledge of intercompany accounting and parallel accounting documentation.
