Financial Controller

About the role

Abacus Group is seeking a Financial Controller to join its Finance team. The role will support financial planning, management control, and performance monitoring across multiple companies within the group, working closely with senior finance leaders and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management reports and conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast).
• Contribute to annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
• Monitor key performance indicators, identify risks, and recommend improvement areas.
• Support cost control and profitability analysis by business unit or project.
• Ensure consistency between accounting data and management reporting.
• Collaborate with Accounting for month‑end closing activities.
• Assist with cash‑flow analysis and working‑capital monitoring.
• Prepare financial presentations and reports for internal stakeholders and management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Management Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in controlling, financial reporting, audit or a similar finance role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Excellent analytical mindset, attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Proficient written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling).
