Financial Policy Officer – Luxembourg

About the role

The European Investment Bank is seeking a Financial Policy Officer to join its Finance Directorate in Luxembourg. The role is based at the headquarters and requires regular presence in the office, offering the chance to work in a truly international and multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor regulatory and supervisory developments affecting the Bank and analyse their impact on the Finance Directorate.
• Design, test, implement and revise financial policies related to treasury, capital markets and back‑office activities.
• Conduct financial analysis and impact assessments to support policy proposals and committee discussions (e.g., ALCO).
• Contribute to Bank‑wide initiatives such as ILAAP, ICAAP, liquidity contingency planning, risk appetite framework, recovery planning and stress‑testing.
• Prepare briefing notes and reports on assets & liability management, fund transfer pricing, liquidity management, funding strategy and related risk topics.
• Collaborate with Risk Management, Legal, Financial Control and other Directorates to ensure coherent policy implementation.

Required profile

• Proactive, flexible and able to work autonomously.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex regulatory issues into actionable policy recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with senior management and cross‑functional teams.
• Experience in financial risk management, treasury or capital markets is desirable.
